Scripture: Luke 15:11–24
Reflection
After wasting his inheritance and reaching the depths of hunger and shame, the prodigal son finally “comes to himself” and begins the long walk home. His confession is sincere, but the heart of the story is not his speech—it is the father who runs to meet him. Before the apology is finished, the father restores him as a son and welcomes him with joy. This episode reflects on how Lent invites us to wake up to our wandering and turn toward home. Love in the wilderness does not hesitate—it runs to embrace us.
Prayer of Presence
Father,
I come to myself and to You. I acknowledge where I have wandered far from Your heart. Meet me on the road with Your running, Your arms, and the joy that calls me “child” again. – Amen
Carry This Prayer With You
Breathe in: I am far away…
Breathe out: …but You call me home.
Until next time:
Stay steady.
Stay open.
Stay present.
You are still… here.
