Scripture: Matthew 5:14, 16
“You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden… Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Reflection
The lights come down.
The tree dries out.
The music fades.
But the Light is still here—and it lives in you.
Jesus didn’t come to start a holiday. He came to ignite a people. To kindle a flame in the hearts of ordinary humans, so that His presence would not be confined to Bethlehem or Nazareth or even Jerusalem—but would spread to homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods across the earth.
You are the light of the world.
That’s the miracle now. Not just that God came near, but that He stays near—through you.
To live the light means to embody what we’ve celebrated these past 31 days: wonder, welcome, worship, obedience, sacrifice, trust, joy, and hope. You carry this story forward, not by preserving it in memory, but by practicing it in daily life.
Unplug the consumer version of Christmas. Let go of the pressure to perform the season. Instead, live the truth that outlasts the decorations: God is with us. And because of that, we are now with the world—bearing His light in every step we take.
The story isn’t over. It’s just beginning again… through you.
Centering Prayer
Light of the World,
You shine long after the season fades. Let me live what I celebrated. Make me a lamp of Your presence—burning steady in every space. May others see You in me and glorify the One who still comes near. – Amen
Practice for Today
Ask God to show you one area of your life—big or small—where His light wants to shine through you this week. Be intentional in that space.
Journaling Prompt
What part of the Christmas story am I being called to live out in this season of my life?
Blessing for the Day
Take the light into the shadows.
Carry the wonder into the weariness.
Let your life become a living nativity—
Where Christ is seen, welcomed, and glorified.
Pray As You Go
Breathe in: Light of the world…
Breath out: … shine through me
