Scripture: Romans 15:4
“Whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
Reflection
This isn’t just a story you read—it’s a story you live.
The narrative of Christmas didn’t end in Bethlehem or Nazareth or Jerusalem. It continues in you. All the waiting, all the wonder, all the wildness of God stepping into the world is still unfolding every time you say yes to grace.
The ancient words were written for our encouragement—not to entertain us, but to equip us. They give shape to our longings, context to our suffering, and courage to our calling.
You’re not just learning about Mary, Joseph, Anna, Simeon, or the shepherds—you’re walking beside them. You, too, are called to carry Christ, to listen for the Spirit, to proclaim good news, to persevere through silence, to rejoice in the light.
God doesn’t write disconnected stories. He weaves generations into a tapestry of mercy and redemption. And the thread He’s using now is you.
So, as you near the end of this devotional, remember: you’re not finishing a book—you’re stepping into a bigger story.
The Word became flesh.
The Light still shines.
The invitation still stands.
God is still with us.
Centering Prayer
Author of Life,
Write me into Your great redemption. I am not just a reader—I am a witness. Let my life tell of wonder, my breath sing of hope, and my hands carry light into the chapters yet to come. – Amen
Practice for Today
Write a short paragraph beginning with: “My place in the story is…” Let it be a declaration of how you see your life participating in God’s ongoing redemption.
Journaling Prompt
How does it change my outlook to realize that the Christmas story is still unfolding—and that I am part of it?
Blessing for the Day
Let your story be swept into The Story.
Know that the pages of your life echo the wonder of His Word.
You are not outside the narrative—
You are a living chapter of grace.
Pray As You Go
Breathe in: This is my story…
Breath out: … written by You
