Scripture: Matthew 2:2

“We saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”

When Outsiders Find the King

They came from the east—strange men with strange customs, riding into Jerusalem on camels, dressed like royalty. They weren’t Jews. They weren’t prophets. They didn’t quote scripture or speak Hebrew. But they had seen something the religious leaders missed. And they crossed a continent to act on it.

They were the Magi—and they were among the most misunderstood characters in the Christmas story.

Not kings. Not three. Not at the manger.

They were Gentile astrologers who followed a star and walked into prophecy. And in a story filled with devout Jews, temple rituals, and Hebrew fulfillment, the Magi remind us that God sometimes uses unexpected people to recognize His work.

They were the first Gentiles to worship the Messiah.
The first to call him King.
And they did it before any priest or prophet knew He had arrived.
