Chapter 19
Jake’s first visit of the day was with Eileen and Don Janicek. Not only was this a follow-up to the consent visit, but the spiritual care assessment needed to be completed within five days of admission. The Janiceks asked for Jake to come back as soon as he had time. This morning was convenient for all of them.
When he arrived, Don had a fresh pot of coffee waiting for him. Man, I’m going to be on caffeine overload today.
“Chaplain, I have something I needed to talk to you about while Eileen finishes getting dressed. The girls are in there with her now. They’ve been talking in there for over an hour. I never bother them when they’re doing that. Learned that lesson years ago.”
“I learned the same thing at the office.”
