Chapter 30
The events of the night and the exhaustion that Jake felt, both physical and emotional, caused him to skip worship and opt for personal meditation and lots of sleep that Sunday morning. He couldn’t stop thinking about what Jen said to him as she drove away. How far does she want this ‘relationship’ to go? This is going too far too fast! The strain of Eileen’s death added to the turmoil in his mind and heart over one simple kiss and comment from Jen.
He received a call from triage on Sunday afternoon saying that Don Janicek wanted him to call.
“Don, this is Jake.”
“Thanks for calling, Jake. I need to ask a favor of you.”
