Steady... Living Between Grace & Covenant is coming Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
That means it is not available this week. This week is the hinge: Held in Grace comes to its close, the transition toward Have This Mind begins, and Steady... is placed before readers as the deeper companion book that will arrive in just over two weeks.
This book grew out of a pastoral question I keep seeing in real lives, real rooms, real families, and real faith: How do we remain steady when life is not?
Not hard. Not rigid. Not numb. Steady.
There is a kind of strength that does not come from denial, performance, or control. It comes from living between two gifts of God that belong together: grace and covenant.
Grace creates the space in which life can grow. Covenant provides the structure that keeps that life steady.
That sentence became the heartbeat of the book.
Many people are exhausted by a world that pulls them in every direction. We are told to be flexible, productive, emotionally available, spiritually mature, financially wise, relationally present, and constantly adaptable. Yet the deeper question remains: What is holding us while we are trying to hold everything else?
Steady... is my pastoral answer to that question.
This is not a book about becoming impressive. It is not a book about mastering a system. It is a book about receiving a way of life rooted in the character of God. Grace without covenant can become shapeless. Covenant without grace can become crushing. But when grace and covenant are held together, a life can become both open and strong, tender and firm, grounded and alive.

The devotions helped us pray the truth. This book will help us see the structure beneath it.
Between now and June 9, I will keep pointing toward this one invitation: you do not have to choose between softness and strength. You do not have to choose between freedom and faithfulness. You do not have to choose between grace and covenant.
