Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11-13
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me and find me when you search with all your heart.”
A common question we ask is, “How can I find God’s will for my life?” when the better question is, “How can I follow God’s leading today?”
It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to make the “right choice” as if God’s will is a hidden target we might miss. Jeremiah reminds us that God’s plans are not hidden—they are obvious to us when we accept that those plans are anchored in goodness, peace, and hope.
God isn’t trying to force you to make hard decisions.
He’s trying to pull you into a future full of life.
When Jeremiah delivered these words, Israel was lost, defeated, and exiled. They didn’t need a five-step plan or complicated puzzles. They needed the calm reassurance that God was still thinking about them—that He had not forgotten his promises.
And that’s exactly what God gave;
Not a roadmap, but a relationship.
Not a detailed itinerary, but an open invitation.
“Call to me. Pray. Seek me. I will be found.”
All they had to do—all we have to do— is look.
You may not know your next step, but you are not walking alone.
You don’t have to figure it all out.
You just need to stay in touch with the One who already shows you the plan.
Centering Prayer
God, I confess that I want clarity, but You offer connection.
Help me let go of my need to control the outcome.
Draw near as I seek You today.
I trust that Your thoughts toward me are good,
and that You will lead me one step at a time. Amen.
Practice for Today
Instead of asking, “What should I do?” try praying, “Where are You already working, God?” Write down anything that comes to mind—people, places, situations where you sense God's activity.
Then ask: “How can I join You there today?”
Journaling Prompt
When have I felt pressure to find “God’s plan” as if it were a test?
What changes when I believe God’s will is about peace, hope, and daily connection?
Closing Blessing
Stop chasing answers.
Call on God, and He will hear.
Seek Him, and He will be found.
Walk forward, not in fear, but in faith—
Because the One who formed your future is walking it with you.
Pray as You Go
Inhale: You have good plans for me…
Exhale: …and I will seek You with all my heart.
