Scripture: Isaiah 62:2
“You will be called by a new name, which Yahweh’s mouth will declare.”
Grief doesn’t just break your heart—it reshapes your identity. After deep loss, you may no longer recognize the person in the mirror. Your roles have changed. Your rhythms have shifted. The old answers don’t fit anymore, and the question rises quietly but persistently: Who am I now?
This is not failure—it’s transformation.
The mirror may reflect someone older, softer, perhaps more fragile—but also deeper, wiser, and more compassionate. You are becoming a new person.
Isaiah promises something powerful: God gives you a new name—not one defined by pain, but one shaped by divine love. The world may label you by your loss, but God sees beyond it. He names you not by what has been taken, but by what is still being formed.
You’re allowed to mourn who you were. You’re allowed to feel disoriented. But you’re also invited into a process of sacred becoming. This identity is not imposed—it’s revealed. Slowly. Gently. Through grace.
You are more than the roles you’ve lost. You are more than the ache you carry. You are still becoming—and God is calling you by name.
You are still beloved. Still chosen. Still becoming.
Practice for Today
Write down the names or roles you’ve lost. Then write what God might be calling you now: Beloved. Brave. Redeemed. Becoming.
Journaling Prompt
How has this season changed how I see myself? What “new name” is God giving me?
Closing Blessing
Hear the tender voice of God whisper your new name.
Watch for the signs as your world responds to this new identity.
You are not what you lost.
You are who He is lovingly forming in this season of becoming.
Pray as You Go
Inhale: I have changed…
Exhale: …and I’m still Yours.
