Scripture: Hebrews 13:2
“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.”
Not all angels have wings. Sometimes comfort shows up wearing human skin. A nurse who stayed a few minutes longer. A friend who texted at just the right time. A stranger who offered a smile when you felt invisible. These moments may seem small, but they carry the weight of heaven.
Hebrews 13:2 reminds us that angels don’t always appear with wings and trumpets. Sometimes they show up in ordinary clothes, in mundane places, disguised as kindness. And often, in grief, it is these quiet mercies that carry us when we can’t carry ourselves.
You don’t have to look far to find evidence that you are being cared for. Not everyone will understand your pain—but some will. And some may be heaven-sent for this exact season.
Here’s a heavenly mystery: when you feel most alone, you are the most seen by God. He sends divine comforters in mortal form.
You are seen. You are not alone. He has not forgotten you.
And here’s a divine wonder: as you are comforted, you will, in time, become a comfort to others. You too may be someone’s angel in human skin.
Watch for angels in human skin all around you. Heaven is closer than you think.
