Day 22: Hidden in God
The truest version of your life isn’t the one others see, but the one quietly held in God
Scripture: Colossians 3:3 (WEB)
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
This is a mysterious but powerful truth: you died, and now your life is hidden with Christ in God.
The word “hidden” Paul uses here eventually gave rise to the English word encrypted. That’s how deeply secure and sealed your life is in God—wrapped, protected, and inseparable from His presence.
We live in a world that constantly tells us to be seen, to prove ourselves, to define our worth through visibility and success. But Paul gives us a different lens. Who you are is not determined by what others see or applaud. Your true identity is not in your titles, achievements, or failures. It is hidden—completely and beautifully—in the heart of God.
When life gets difficult, we may not see how God is working. Just because we can’t see Him doesn’t mean He’s not active and present. He is hidden in plain sight, woven into your daily life, waiting—watching—whispering His presence in you.
Because you are “encrypted” in God presence, when you look for God, you may discover more about yourself. Finding the hiddenness of God means you find the hidden—yet powerful—life in you. A life hidden in God is complete, full, serene—and overflowing with divine presence that others see.
Practice for Today
Today, pause throughout the day and ask:
"What part of my life feels hidden right now?"
Don’t try to force it into the open.
Trust that God knows.
Trust that even in what feels unseen or unfinished—He is present and working
Journaling Prompt
What parts of my life feel invisible, overlooked, or unfinished?
How does it change your view to know that your true life is hidden with Christ in God?
Blessing
Rest confidently in the mystery of God’s hidden presence.
Know that the most hidden parts of your life are wrapped safely in His presence.
Grow in grace, in quiet strength, and in peace—
even when you cannot yet see the fruit.
Pray As You Go
Inhale: Hidden in Christ...
Exhale: ... I am safe and alive
