Scripture: Revelation 21:4
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
The tears you cry—especially during times of pain and grief—are never wasted. Scripture doesn’t simply mention them—it treasures them. God notices every tear. In fact, the Bible says God collects them (Psalm 56:8). One day, God will wipe your tears away and replace them with joy.
This isn’t sentimental. It’s sacred. Your tears are silent prayers, meaningful memories, and love in liquid form. When you cry, you’re not falling apart or showing weakness—you’re releasing something holy.
Our world may tell us that crying isn’t something that big people do. You may believe that crying is for children, but remember, you are a child of God. As His child He wants you to be honest with your feelings. Sometimes, honesty flows through tears. The opportunity for God to work in you is when you release the pain and allow it to flow from you to him.
Revelation reminds us that grief is not the end. One day, there will be no more tears—no need for tears. But for now, let them flow. Let them speak for you when you can’t form the words. Allow the tears to release and cleanse the pain and the loss. God knows. And God is with you.
Practice for Today
Let yourself cry without stopping or apologizing. Afterward, wash your face and whisper, “God is with me in this.”
Journaling Prompt
What brings me tears lately? Do I allow them to flow—or try to hold them back?
Closing Blessing:
Feel the tender hands of God receive every tear you shed.
None are wasted.
All are remembered.
You are seen, soaked in compassion, and held.
Pray as You Go
Inhale: These tears are holy…
Exhale: …and You hold every one.
How appropriate this is concerning all that is happening. I had to stop watching the news this morning because my tears were certainly pouring today.
