Scripture: John 4:28-30
“The woman then left her water pot, went away into the city, and said to the people, ‘Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Christ?’ They went out of the city, and were coming to him.”
God’s purpose for you can change in an instant. Often, that change happens at a moment when you feel empty inside. You may feel like being alone. You know something is missing. Those are the times God is grabbing your attention. When He does, everything changes.
The Samaritan woman came to the well at noon to avoid the stares and whispers of her neighbors. Her life was marked by broken relationships and quiet shame. She wasn’t looking for purpose that day—she was just looking for water.
Then Jesus met her.
He didn’t avoid her story—He named it.
He didn’t condemn her—He offered her living water.
Something changed.
She left her water jar—the very reason she had come—and ran back to the people she had been avoiding. Her testimony was simple: “Come and see.”
That’s how quickly purpose can change. One encounter with Jesus can turn shame into testimony, isolation into invitation. You don’t have to have all the answers—you just need to tell what you’ve seen.
Centering Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for meeting me in my ordinary places.
Take my story, even the messy parts, and use it to invite others to You.
Fill me with living water that overflows to everyone I meet. Amen.
Practice for Today
Think of one person who needs encouragement or hope.
Reach out and share something God has done for you—big or small. A call or a text can be a transformative moment for you and them.
Journaling Prompt
Where has Jesus met me in my ordinary routines?
How can I share my story in a way that invites others to “come and see”?
Closing Blessing
Leave your jar.
Run toward the people you once avoided.
Speak freely of what God has done for you.
Go forward with the courage that God’s call can give you.
Your encounter can be the invitation that changes someone’s eternity.
Pray as You Go
Inhale: I let go of a burden…
Exhale: …and pick up Your purpose.
This one is really GREAT! Just what I needed this morning! Thank you!
