Scripture: Acts 17:28 (WEB)
“For in him we live, move, and have our being.”
This brief verse holds an immense truth: you are never separate from God.
Paul’s profound words in Acts show us that God is not a part of our lives – He is our life. We exist within the very presence of God. Every breath we take, every beat of our heart, every thought we think is created and sustained by God’s presence. Whether we recognize it or not, we live in God like a fish lives in water – infused, sustained, enlivened.
Resting in this truth offers us divine comfort, especially when life feels chaotic. When we are uncertain about what comes next, when we feel inadequate, we can return to this universal truth:
In Him, I live.
In Him, I move.
In Him, I exist.
Nothing that happens is untouched by God. Being outside of His presence isn’t possible. God’s presence isn’t reserved for sacred spaces – He is the space. God isn’t distant – He is imminently present. He lovingly urges you to recognize that your existence is held in His own being.
Practice for Today: Living in Awareness
Throughout the day, pause during your normal activities and say silently:
“In You, I live.”
“In You, I move.”
“In You, I have my being.”
Notice how this transforms mundane moments into sacred ones. Let this awareness ground you in God’s presence—right where you are.
Journaling Prompt
“Where do I forget that God is my life? How can I live today with greater awareness that every moment is in Him?”
Closing Blessing
In every moment, awaken to the truth that God is your very life.
Breathe deeply of His presence,
Know that because He lives, you live too,
Move assuredly in this chaotic world,
Walk effortlessly in His grace knowing you are always in Him.
Pray As You Go
Inhale: “In You, I live and move…”
Exhale: “…and have my being.”
