Scripture: John 11:25
“Jesus wept.”
Goodbyes are rarely neat. Sometimes there’s no chance to say what needed saying. It may have been because we assume life will continue the way it always has. Sometimes words were spoken in anger or fear. Sometimes there was no goodbye at all.
That ache—the unfinished goodbye—can feel like a wound that never heals. But even in this, Jesus meets you and understands you. He stood outside Lazarus’ tomb, even knowing resurrection was coming, and still—He wept.
Jesus honors your sorrow and your pain. He joins you in it. He knows what it is like to stand in the face of death, to cry for what was lost, and to carry grief that lingers.
What you didn’t get to say is not lost in the silence. Speak it now. Let the words flow even if they can’t be voiced. Let the feelings out even when you can’t name them. God hears you and understands.
